It's one of the few books I've read that overtly and frequently provides perspective when I'm evaluating the legitimacy of government behavior and public policy arguments. Not her arguments, but due to her being a great historian, her reportage of the considerations and arguments made by those who developed and championed the ideas that buttress the DofI.
And it's written at a level of comprehension it could serve as extra credit work for grades 9 - 12.
