Rothbard has some valuable insights into the struggle for religious liberty. But, neither his research nr his sources cut very deep or wide.
For a much better and very recent take on Williams and Hutchinson by a non-professional historian, I recommend highly John Barry's Roger Williams and the Creation of the American Soul. I'm about two-thirds of the way through it.
