Christopher Hitchens v. Alister McGrath

I have decided to attach the following video because I believe it illustrates how both Atheists (represented by Hitchens) and Christians (represented by McGrath) often use the history of the founding fathers, American and French Revolutions, and American colonization to prove their points. Scattered throughout this video are a number of references to the early American republic, the founders, the revolution, etc. In them you will see that the interpretation of these events is based exclusively on the person's religious leanings, or lack thereof.

The video is a little long, but for people that enjoy history and religion I am sure you will find it as enjoyable as I did.

I think you're correct about how the debate relates to the arguments about the Founding.

My dear old grandmother used to say, "A man convinced against his will is of the same opinion still."

I doubt anyone ever changed their mind being exposed to such debate.
